Mini Stages – Developing creativity through music and rhythm

Malta Independent Saturday, 15 April 2006, 00:00 Last update: about 11 years ago

It is a well-known fact that babies and toddlers are naturally interested in music. They love to listen as their attention spans grow. And, thanks to the latest addition to Stagecoach Malta called Mini Stages, tiny tots are enjoying and benefiting from exploring music in centres all over Malta.

Mini Stages is a series of 40-minute workshops during which young children aged from six months to four years of age, together with an adult (mum, dad or carer) listen, beat time, march to rhythms, sing songs and play with instruments. The sessions are led by drama teacher and actress Coryse Borg.

The impressions that children absorb during this educationally-sound programme may well influence them for years to come, leading them to develop creativity, co-ordination and confidence. After the sessions, parents and carers meet up for a coffee or tea where they and their children can make new friends.

The next Mini Stages term starts on 22 April but enrolment is not confined to the early weeks.
