Greek Choreographer for Fabrizio

Malta Independent Sunday, 16 April 2006, 00:00 Last update: about 12 years ago

Since winning the Go Mobile Maltasong for Europe Festival 2006 last February, Fabrizio has become a very busy traveller. Over the last few months he has been to a number of countries in Europe promoting I Do, Malta’s song in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest to be held in Athens Greece next month.

This year Malta's tune is a dance piece and hence the preparations have to concentrate on a performance that includes dance elements. The choreographer who has been engaged to produce the dance around the tune, is Valerie Lendore from Greece.

In previous editions she has worked closely with Elena and Sakis who represented Greece. During Fabrizio's visit to Greece he was introduced to the dancers and together they started rehearsing for this year's performance. The dancers chosen for the act have two roles to play, dancing and singing as backing vocals, which means dancers will be singers too.

This year’s promo tour includes visits to 20 countries – Lithuania, Latvia, Croatia, Bosnia, Moldova, Greece, Cyprus, Romania, Slovenia, Andorra, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Belgium, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Holland, Belarus and Sweden.

The promo tour is the most extensive done so far. Fabrizio has been welcomed with great enthusiasm everywhere; his talent and charisma are certainly at their best.

In the meantime, Maltasong is organising a promotional tour to Malta for other Eurovision singers. This will be the weekend starting Friday. Those, who have confirmed their participation, include Andorra, England, Holland, Croatia, Rumania and Poland. Further details of this event will be given later this week.
