Melita Power Diesel Ltd, a division of Melita Marine Group, has recently been appointed as the sole distributor for Scania Marine and Industrial engines and as the authorised service centre for Malta.

Scania was founded in 1891 and manufactures more than 60,000 engines each year, which, besides being used in trucks and buses, are also used for different industrial and marine applications.

Lars Eklund, regional service manager for Scania Industrial & Marine Engines, was recently in Malta to train Melita Power Diesel and Malta Freeport Terminals’ staff on the latest Scania DC 16 Genset Engine installed on the newly delivered rubber-tyred gantry cranes for Malta Freeport.

Melita Power Diesel Ltd currently represents a variety of high profile brands such as Detroit Diesel, MTU, ALLISON, Mercedes and VM. It operates with the aim of selling and servicing complete power systems for marine, industrial propulsion and power plants.

MPD operates within modern amenities used for inspection and testing equipment purposes and is supported by a large number of expert tools and diagnosing equipment used by a team of specially trained service engineers, technicians and marine designers.
