I refer to the article “Local company complains that shunt reactors contract for Mosta Distribution Centre was awarded to most expensive bidder” written by Juan Ameen (TMIS, 23 April).

In view of the fact that the case is currently under appeal at the Department of Contracts, Enemalta feels that it is unethical to publicly comment on this case. Enemalta has presented its case justifying its decision to the appeals board.

The decision taken by Enemalta is backed by sound financial and technical reasons as opposed to the impression given in the article.
