Majority Voting at MCESD

Malta Independent Wednesday, 3 May 2006, 00:00 Last update: about 12 years ago

The report MEA president affirms commitment to reform MCESD, (TMID, 29 April) about the meeting between the Malta Employers’ Association and the UHM mentioned that the MEA is proposing that decisions at MCESD should be taken by means of a vote.

I would like to clarify that the association president Pierre Fava never suggested that majority voting should be introduced at MCESD during this meeting, and that the MEA has never adopted this view in any of its recommendations to reform MCESD.

The MEA has issued a paper on how the MCESD can be more effective and this was circulated among MCESD members.

This paper is posted on our website: www.maltaemployers.com.

The paper clearly explains MEA’s position on this issue.
