Dr Ray Bondin presented a report to the President of the Province of Catania Dr Raffaele Lombardo yesterday.

The report describes the natural and cultural heri-tage of Mount Etna as a first step to its nomination to be recognised as a world heri-tage site by Unesco.

The final report was presented after a meeting with officials of the Parco dell Etna, the University of Catania and the Superintendence. Sicilian coordinator Francesco La Roca was also present.

Dr Bondin has carried out various evaluations and monitoring missions for Unesco and has been involved in all the major projects in Sicily in recent years.
