Two men were yesterday charged with a snatch and grab incident to the detriment of a British tourist.

Joseph Scerri, 38, from Hamrun and Kevin Borg, 23, from Pieta, were charged with stealing a digital video camera from Mavis Eileen Kennard on 2 May at 12.30pm. Both men were also charged with relapsing and breaching previous court orders.

The men, who appeared before magistrate Antonio Mizzi, pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against them. They were granted bail against a personal guarantee of Lm1,000.

Police inspectors Carmelo Bartolo and Josric Mifsud prosecuted while Dr Jose Herrera, Dr Roberto Montalto and Dr Leslie Cuschieri appeared for the defendants.
