Caroline Navarro: A very active life

Malta Independent Sunday, 7 May 2006, 00:00 Last update: about 13 years ago

Caroline Navarro has had a very busy few months as the opening of the art gallery Space, which she set up with James in February, coincided with several other exhibitions held at the same time. The opening of the Space art gallery exhibited the collection of her yacht paintings and sculptures inspired by the Middle Sea Yacht Race. In March, Caroline and James were part of a collective OPERART, which included paintings of the theatre, in particular, the charming Manoel Theatre, inspired by Toulouse Lautrec.

Last month, another exhibition of her seascapes and boat paintings was put on for the opening of The Ghadira Sailing Centre in Mellieha on Easter Sunday.

Her latest is a selection of landscape paintings done “au plein air” at different heritage sites as part of a Din l-Art Helwa project to raise funds for the restoration of the Wignacourt Aqueduct.

Caroline's future plans are to create works inspired by the life and energy of the Mediterranean. She plans to travel as much as possible in the next few months to enjoy the summer vibes and capture it in her work.
