Malta Independent Sunday, 7 May 2006, 00:00 Last update: about 14 years ago

Dr Ray Bondin presented a report to the president of the Province of Catania, Dr Raffaele Lombardo on the natural and cultural heritage of Mount Etna, the first step for it to be nominated and eventually recognised as a world heritage site by UNESCO.

Mr Bondin assembled a number of people to prepare specialised reports, with the final report presented after a seminar was held with officials of the Parco dell Etna, the University of Catania and the Superintendence. Also attending the presentation was Francesco La Roca, who coordinated the Sicilian side.
