Tista’ Tkun Int! has once again established itself as the most popular programme on TV, with a record 171,000 viewers tuning in on Thursday nights and 40,000 on Sunday mornings.
Rachel, the ever-popular host, has also
been named Favourite TV Presenter, one step further from previous survey results where she was voted Most Popular Female Presenter.
The week-long survey was conducted by Pietà-based The Research Bureau, which interviewed 630 respondents last month.
Contacted for her comments, Ms Vella said she was extremely satisfied with these results, adding that the programme had started off with a bang the first year and has always had a tremendous response from viewers, especially women.
Ms Vella said that although numerous surveys are conducted on TV programmes, it is important to make sure that these are carried out professionally.
Ms Vella added: “With an increase that totals 211,000 weekly viewers and the honour of being Most Popular Presenter Overall, we cannot be more satisfied.”
This result possibly reflects the producers’ decision to go for prime time on a Thursday evening.
Other surveys also revealed that 48 per cent of Tista’ Tkun Int! viewers come from the AB and C1 sectors of society – which in survey terms means “middle-upper”.
The survey named Xarabank Top Quality Programme and Most Viewed programme on Friday night. It-Tfal Jigu bil-Vapuri was most viewed on Monday night, while football won the honours on Tuesday and Wednesday night. Foreign news was most viewed on Saturday morning.
Kollox Sibt proved to be the favourite on Saturday afternoon and Italian TV won on Saturday night. Italian TV was viewed most on Sunday afternoon and Mhux bic-Cajt on Sunday night.
