Malta Independent Monday, 8 May 2006, 00:00 Last update: about 13 years ago

The next in the series of cultural tours will take place next Sunday in Gozo.

The tour will start with a walk from Qala to Nadur. The tour will then move on to watch a demonstration in the locality of the process of extraction of oil from olives and the making of limoncello. The participants will also have the opportunity to taste these Gozitan products.

The tour will then proceed to visit the Brockdoff Circle in Xaghra, one of the most important archaeological sites in Gozo.

Lunch will be served in Xaghra, and the participants will then be taken round the salt pans in Qbajjar where they will see a re-enactment of the salting process. The last stop of the tour will be at the Gozo Heritage. This is a privately-owned museum that offers a spectacular historical experience of Gozo. Refreshments will be served here.

The cultural tours are organised by the Tourism and Culture Ministry and coordinated by the Malta Council for Culture and the Arts with the collaboration of the Malta Tourism Authority and Heritage Malta. The Malta Union of Tourist Guides also give their support.
