Bank of Valletta is sponsoring the 25th anniversary exhibition organised by the Society for Scale Modellers. The theme of this exhibition is “History in Scale ‘06”. It is being held at vault no. XIV at the Valletta Waterfront from Saturday to 21 May.

The Society for Scale Modellers was set up in 1981 by a group of modelling enthusiasts and today boasts a large number of members with a wealth of talent and experience. History in Scale ‘06 (HIS06) brings together a variety of highly detailed scale models of military aircraft, armoured vehicles, ships, figurines, dioramas and civil vehicles. The exhibits range from scratch-built to “detailed out of the box” models with a high degree of detail and weathering to give a realistic look to the model.

Bank of Valletta’s sponsorship was presented by Michael Galea, head of PR, communication and corporate branding to Joseph Farrugia, president of the Society of Scale Modellers.

Mr Galea said: “Bank of Valletta is a leading patron of the arts and we are proud to be associated with this original and unique form of artistic expression. At Bank of Valletta, we are committed to promote and encourage local talent as part of our active involvement within the communities in which we operate.”

Mr Farrugia thanked BOV for its support. He said that this year, the exhibition will also feature a competition open to individuals with various degrees of expertise and experience.

“A section of the exhibition has been allocated to table-top wargaming and radio-controlled flying aircraft,” said Mr Farrugia.
