Court: Accused Of trying to injure man

A man was yesterday accused of trying to seriously injure a man by threatening him with a knife and assaulting him.

David Grech, 28, from Senglea, was accused of attempting to seriously injure Alan Scerri on Sunday evening in Cospicua. He was also accused of threatening and assaulting Mr Scerri with a knife, breaching the peace, swearing in public and being in possession of a sharp and pointed instrument. He was further accused of relapsing.

Before magistrate Consuelo Scerri Herrera, Grech pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against him. He was granted bail against a personal guarantee of Lm1,000.

Police inspector Alexander Grech prosecuted while Dr Richard Sladden represented the defendant.
