I would like to congratulate the Birkirkara Football Club after their championship win a few days ago.

Birkirkara have been the best team all round this season. They showed consistency, won the important games and kept other teams at bay.

My congratulations go to the club officials, the coach and the players for giving our hometown such a wonderful gift, six years after we won our first league title.

I would also like to congratulate all the supporters of this wonderful team. The atmosphere they manage to create at the national stadium is second to none. They are so colourful and enthusiastic.

Over the past years, Birkirkara have grown to become one of the best sides in the country, winning other competitions apart from the two leagues mentioned.

Well done to all and keep it up.
