The public is fed up with paying for the mistakes made by the Prime Minister and his Cabinet, said Opposition Leader Alfred Sant yesterday.
He said the people wanted a new government and the Labour Party was ready to step in to provide just that.
Speaking at a social activity in St Paul’s Bay, Dr Sant said the people had had enough of paying a surcharge on water and electricity and paying for medicines that were becoming and more expensive.
“The country has to change and only the Labour Party can bring that about,” he said.
With regard to industry, Dr Sant said the party had a plan to regenerate local industry, and pointed out that the Labour Party disagreed that established factories should be left on their own. A Labour government would help the manufacturing sector to grow and become competitive.
