Leo Brincat Hits out at PN ‘hypocrisy’

Malta Independent Saturday, 13 May 2006, 00:00 Last update: about 14 years ago

The Nationalist government was giving the false impression that a new Labour government would withdraw Malta’s European Union membership, said MLP spokesman Leo Brincat. But at the same time, parliamentary secretary Tonio Fenech had said in London that the debate over membership had been buried.

Quoting from Mr Fenech’s speech in London on 4 April, Mr Brincat said Mr Fenech had said the MLP had not only contested elections for the European Parliament but was also working in the best interests of Malta as a member state. These declarations bring out the hypocrisy of the Nationalists, said Mr Brincat.

He added that the MLP is preparing vision statements on the party’s foreign policy and information technology policy.
