Miriam Christine will be singing some of her popular singles before kick-off at the long-awaited football match between Birkirkara and Sliema which is to take place today.

The performances are part of the celebrations for the closure of the MFA 2005/2006 Premier League Football Season, as well as Birkirkara FC winning the League. While the entertainment programme is scheduled to start at 1:30pm, Miriam Christine will be performing between 3pm and 3.30pm.

The artiste, an avid football supporter herself, is no stranger to performing before a match, having entertained the crowds at Roots Hall stadium last season. Roots Hall is the home of Southend United, the English club Miriam Christine supports. The Shrimpers, as they are known, won the League One title last week and have subsequently been promoted to the Championship.

Today sees Miriam Christine perform prior to a match involving her favourite local club, Birkirkara.
