Italian team OSG Donzi secured victory in a thrilling climax to the Grand Prix of Malta in which the lead changed hands three times and the second place duel was decided by no more than a boat's length. The thousands who lined the coastline on another glorious sunny day were treated to drama and spectacular action as Fainplast, the Seatek powered Metamarine craft, after a slow start, moved stylishly through the field and lap by lap closed on the leading boats. In a thrilling last lap Fainplast were clearly quicker than the second placed Kerakoll and at the finish were denied the runners up spot by just a boats length. It was an impressive performance from Pennessi, Bisceglia and Ascani suggesting that it's only a matter of time before the boat takes its maiden victory.
In securing second place yesterday, Kerakoll pilots Mario Invernizzi and Giovanni Carpitella took victory in the two-leg Grand Prix of Malta by virtue of the excellent win in Saturday's longer endurance event. Fourth place went to Thuraya who thus finished in third place overall in the Grand Prix.
In SuperSport, where overtaking was evident throughout, Buzzi Bullet had it's revenge on fellow Britons ARPRO, winners in Saturday's event. Piloted by Drew Langdon and Jan Falkowski, Buzzi Bullet took the lead around the halfway stage and then powered ahead in impressive style.

A strong third place finish for Albatro Marine enabled the Yanmar-powered team to secure the final overall podium position in the Grand Prix.
For the local team Chaudron, racing a brand new family-built boat were unable to continue after trouble with one of its engines. A disappointing end to a weekend that had promised so much for driver Aaron Ciantar and his sister navigator Audrien.
