Public Broadcasting Services has a new programmes manager. Simon Lumsden is succeeding Sylvana Cristina, who has recently been appointed head of news, The Malta Independent can exclusively reveal.
Mr Lumsden is not new to the Maltese media scene, having previously worked for Calypso Radio when the station was based in Gozo.
Before returning to Malta this week, he was working in the United Kingdom for a regional radio station.
Even though she has been appointed head of news, Ms Cristina has still been doing the work of programmes manager. Sources said that she had repeatedly complained of being unable to do her job as head of news due to the fact that she still had to dedicate a considerable amount of time to the programmes section.
