Justice and Home Affairs Minister Tonio Borg and United States Ambassador Molly Bordonaro yesterday signed two treaties, one on reciprocal legal assistance and the other on extradition procedures between the two countries.
Dr Borg said an extradition treaty had been signed more than 70 years ago but had been in need of revision.
Ambassador Bordonaro said the two agreements would help Malta and the US in the fight against organised crime and terrorism.
