Following a string of successful live productions such as Live from the Screen, That’s Amore, Dipinto di Blu, A Tribute to the Oldies, and more recently, Sleigh Bells in the City, Spiteri Lucas Entertainment is busy preparing for its latest production to date – Romanza, a live and unplugged concert featuring none other than popular and versatile singing duo, Julie and Ludwig.

This new production, which will be staged on 27 and 28 May in the Music Room at St James Cavalier in Valletta, promises to be an exciting and entertaining show not to be missed by all music lovers and fans of this popular duo.

The varied repertoire is sure to appeal to different generations. From musical hits such as Getshemane (Jesus Christ Superstar), I Dreamed a Dream (Les Miserables) and The Phantom of the Opera, to rock and cabaret numbers like River Deep Mountain High and Big Spender respectively. From the sweet sing-along Neapolitan melodies such as Funiculi Funicula, Sordato Innamorato, Santa Lucia and Torna a Surriento to evergreen standard tunes like My Way. Romantic duets such as Vivo Per Lei, All I Ask of You, Endless Love and The Prayer, just to mention a few, have also been chosen for this live concert. Moreover, there is also space for a couple of their own songs, namely the touching ballad Adagio and their most popular song which gave them the right to represent Malta in the Eurovision Song Contest 2004, On Again… Off Again.

Julie and Ludwig will be accompanied by a live band under the direction of popular musician and singer Mark Spiteri Lucas, who is also responsible for the musical arrangements and artistic direction of the show. The other band members are Joe Vella (double bass), Jes Baldacchino (drums) and Ivan Spiteri Lucas (saxophone), all of whom accompany Julie and Ludwig regularly on popular television programme KolloxSibt.

Tickets are available from St James Cavalier Centre of Creativity. Book now on 2122-3200, 2122-3216 or on email [email protected]. Hot Line number is 2123-3958.
