A set of four stamps and a miniature sheet commemorating the forthcoming World Cup is being issued by the Philatelic Bureau of Maltapost on Friday, just one week before the opening match. The stamps have been designed by MauriceTanti Burlo’, and come in face values of 7c, 16c, 27c and 76c.

The four stamps in this unique set depict four former World Cup stars – Franz Beckenbauer, Pele’, Bobby Charlton and Dino Zoff.

This set, which is expected to be much sought after both by collectors and by followers of The Game, will be available from all Maltapost retail outlets in Malta and Gozo.
