This year’s SAC Fest is being held at St Aloysius’ College this weekend.
Today, the last day, will be packed with activities. An open air Mass will be celebrated at 9am. People attending Mass are asked to bring their pets to be blessed. Mass will be followed by an animal show. To further create awareness of our less fortunate four-legged friends, donations will be collected and presented to a representative of the Abandoned Animal Association.
There is also a car show, a flower arrangement exhibition, a tree planting and repotting demonstration and an olive oil display. Potted plants will be on sale. Books and costume jewellery will also be available from separate stalls and young visitors can have pony rides.
Also for young visitors and the young at heart, there will be story-telling and face painting activities. While all this is going on, in another part of the college grounds teachers and ex-students will be running a car wash.
In order to spare guests from the scorching sun, all activities will stop between 1pm and 5pm, when sports activities will resume and new stalls will be put up. A two-hour bingo session will keep those who prefer a quiet afternoon busy.
The highlight of the evening will be a rock concert by the college’s talented students with Carrie and Band as guests.
All funds collected (unless otherwise stated) will be used to finance various projects undertaken by the school for the benefit of its students.
