A man was yesterday charged with assaulting a local warden in Mosta on Friday and with refusing to give his particulars.

Robert Manicaro, 23, from Tarxien, was charged with assaulting warden Josianne Darmanin in Triq id-Durumblat in Mosta. He was also charged with refusing to give the warden his name, surname and address as laid down in the law.

Before magistrate Joseph Apap Bologna, Mr Manicaro pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against him.

Police inspector Josric Mifsud prosecuted while Dr Marion Camilleri appeared for the defendant.
