The Health Services Sector of the Union Haddiema Maghqudin yesterday ordered industrial action at the Paola and Cospicua Health Centres and the Luqa Pharmacy after no security guards were provided at the premises.
The UHM ordered pharmacists to close the centres until security guards were provided as incidents had occurred in the past. It said that it has written to the Health Division that it was not the first time that incidents occurred at health centres and pharmacies.
The UHM said that security guards were eventually sent to the Paola and Cospicua centres but no one was sent to Luqa and the pharmacy had to remain closed.
