Malta completed their programme in the seventh European tournament for U-18 Youth and Amateur national teams with victory over the Italian Amateur team following a penalty shoot-out.
The result after 90 minutes was 1-1, with Tyron Farrugia scoring Malta's goal in the 24th minute.
According to competition rules, a winner had to be declared on penalties. Malta won after edging the Italians 6-5 on aggregate.
Poland won the group with four points and proceeded to the final. Italy were second with three points followed by Malta with two.
The tournament was played in Paestum, Italy.
