President Eddie Fenech Adami yesterday began an official visit to the Gozitan village of Xaghra with meetings with students attending three schools in the village.
The president’s visit comes to an end on Sunday when he will attend a Mass at the Xaghra parish church and visit several residents to admire the typical traditions of this village. He will also visit a number of historical sites in the village such as the Kola Windmill as well as visits to the Youth Centre and the Victory Band Club.
During yesterday’s meeting with the students, President Fenech Adami acknowledged the fact that the educational institutions were helping students to be creative and use their talents as well as develop their personal skills.
The president also heard that the Patri Mattew Sultana primary school is an eco-school and yesterday afternoon participated in the “environmental” parliament. The president also listened to a song sung by the schoolchildren as well as part of a play. Dr Fenech Adami visited the St Francis School, the Mattew Pulis Primary School and the Malta College for the Art, Science and Technology.
