Now what’s going to happen in Malta? Childless couples were made to pay Lm5500 before they could adopt a child from Pakistan. Each one of these couples signed a bona fide notarial deed with Concetta Charles. Nobody ever mentioned that illegalities existed. On the contrary, on the programme Xarabank she said she was helping childless couples to adopt.

So I ask: if there were 11 children in Pakistan waiting to be adopted by Maltese couples where did the Lm60,500 paid by these couples go? Is it fraud? Is it just theft? None of the couples were given their money back even though they won a court case to this effect. Is the Malta Police investigating this aspect? We are talking about thousands of Maltese liri here.

If justice was done in Pakistan, I hope that it will also be done in Malta where childless couples suffered great disappointment and, to add insult to injury, they were not refunded the money they had paid.
