Three young men are being held by the police for questioning after being caught trying to break into an establishment in Luqa.

A police statement said that at 2am, officers were called in to investigate after the alarm of a bar at the Luqa industrial estate went off.

On arrival, they found two youths in a car. They tried to escape but were apprehended by the police. A third youth, who it resulted was the owner of the car, was also arrested in the vicinity.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the youths tried to make their way into the bar by breaking one of the windows. Tools that could have been used in the attempted robbery were found in the car.
