A truck and a car were extensively damaged by fire yesterday in Zebbug and Valletta, the police reported yesterday.

At 1am, police on patrol noticed a fire in a field in Siggiewi Road in Zebbug.

When they entered the field the police realised that a truck was on fire. Members of the Civil Protection Department were called on site to control the flames.

Later, at 4.30am, the police were informed that a car was on fire in Merchants Street, Valletta. The fire was put out by a person who filed the report.

No-one was injured. Magistrate Antonio Mizzi appointed several experts to draw up a report. The Police are investigating.
