Body And soul

Malta Independent Sunday, 11 June 2006, 00:00 Last update: about 13 years ago

Last week, Joe Micallef, Head of School of Arts, Valletta, opened Joanne Fenech Portelli’s art exhibition entitled “Body & Soul: Human Images in Pastels” at Cleland & Souchet in Portomaso, St Julian’s.

Mr Micallef said Joanne started on the road of “no return”, the road in which inspiration never leaves you idle. This is the road of expressive creation that keeps getting longer, without ever letting you reach the end, because you are always discovering new ideas and horizons. It is after starting on this road, Mr Micallef said, that when one looks back one realises how much creativity can be achieved, therefore the artist never goes back.

This exposition is the first personal exhibition for artist and art teacher Joanne Fenech Portelli. In this collection, Joanne displays her artwork of pastels inspired by the human figure.

Joanne’s exhibition is on

at Cleland & Souchet

lifestyle store in Portomaso till the end of June. Monday to Friday between 9:30am and 1:30pm, and 4:30 to 8:30pm; Saturdays from 10:30am to 1:30pm and 4:30 to 8:30pm.
