A man was yesterday fined Lm5 after he pleaded guilty to urinating in public when he did so against a wall at the Auberge de Castille.
The incident took place on 1 May, when police officers caught the man urinating against the public building which houses the prime minister’s office.
He was charged in court with public indecency and with littering. Before Magistrate Dennis Montebello, the man pleaded guilty to urinating in public and was therefore found guilty of littering. However, he was acquitted of public indecency.
Magistrate Montebello fined the man Lm5.
Police inspector Maria Stella Cutajar prosecuted while Dr Roberto Montalto appeared for the accused.
