Every year, The Maltese Bartenders Guild awards the Joseph Gusti Bartender of The Year award to one of its members who has excelled in bartending during the year.

The award is sponsored by the Malta Tourism Authority.

This year, the title for 2005 was awarded to two members because both of them achieved the same number of points.

The recipients for this year were Adrian Caruana, who works at Hugos Night Club in Paceville, and Brian Calleya, who worked with the Island Hotels Group at the SAS Raddisson Bay Point

Brian was recently chosen to join a Cruise Boat Bartending team for a definite period.

Adrian was a member of the Maltese delegation that attended the International Bartenders Association meeting held last November.
