The Chamber for Small and Medium Enterprises – GRTU said it agreed with many of the proposals made by the Labour Party in its draft plan for the health sector.
The Labour Party said this was stated by GRTU pharmaceutical sector president Mario Debono during a meeting with party officials on Monday evening.
An MLP statement quoted Mr Debono as saying that the draft plan was well thought-out and that it was based on the principle that the government should provide the best health service possible.
MLP leader Dr Alfred Sant said the main concerns at the moment were the cost and the shortage of medicines on the market.
He said he hoped that talks on the matter would soon be concluded to everyone’s satisfaction.
Mr Debono said a number of issues had been addressed and the government was expected to give its views on the matter and announce a possible solution soon.
