Malta Enterprise has taken an active part in an international conference for call centres and IT outsourcing held in Cairo, Egypt between 5 and 7 June.
The event was opened by Egyptian Communication and IT Minister Tarek Kamel, who expanded on Egypt’s drive to upgrade and attract more international companies to outsource and invest in the country’s ICT industry.
Malta’s location presentation was delivered by Computime Ltd managing director Louie Bellizzi. He explained Malta’s advantages for ICT outsourcing and the company’s positive experience in delivering an IT outsourcing project to a leading Egyptian telecommunications company. This presentation was attended by around 100 delegates. Various other speakers also outlined their experience and spoke about the international practices concerning legal and regulatory issues, cross-cultural issues and quality standards.
Malta’s ambassador in Cairo, Dr Richard Vella Laurenti, took part in the conference and together with the representative of Malta Enterprise, welcomed Dr Tarek Kamel to the the Malta information stand.
Next month, 16 companies operating in the IT sector will participate in two international ICT events – one to be held in Tripoli, the Taqnya IT Fair, and the other in London, the Outsource World Fair.
This is part of the ongoing promotion and support by Malta Enterprise to assist ICT companies expand their international network.
