Lawrence Mizzi has been appointed the new president of the Malta Institute of Management.

He has previously served on the MIM Council as vice-president and treasurer.

Lawrence Mizzi, an economics graduate, joined Air Malta in 1974. In 1979 he was appointed as personal assistant to the chairman during Air Malta’s early years. He held various senior posts including those of Group Head Human Resources and Administration, and Company Secretary to Air Malta’s subsidiary companies.

In 1997, Lawrence was elected on the Council of the Malta Employers’ Association, and appointed deputy president in 2002. He regularly represents the Malta Employers’ Association in various international fora.

At present, Mr Mizzi is a consultant to the Malta Employers’ Association.

The other members of the MIM Council are Joseph Zammit (vice-president), Dr Edward Firman (secretary), Reuben Buttigieg (treasurer), Stephen Young (PRO), Morgan Azzopardi, Lino Micallef-Borg, Anthony Cardona, Darryl Grima, Vanessa Borg (members).
