The Parliamentary Secretary for Small Business and the Self-Employed, Edwin Vassallo recently inaugurated The Art Exhibition at Il Cortile Farmhouse in Naxxar. The exhibition is an anthology of fine art by five well-known artists, namely Alfred Briffa, Chris Briffa, Lawrence Buttigieg, Joseph Paul Cassar and Juliet Horn Castle. The exhibits vary in style and theme, covering figure studies, landscapes and abstract compositions.
Parliamentary Secretary Vassallo spoke about the exhibition showing the possible synergy between art and business. The hall, which used to be used only for wedding receptions and formal functions, is now being offered as an artistic gallery too. He congratulated Mr. Hermann Bonaci for his initiative of offering Il Cortile Farmhouse free to artists who wish to demonstrate their works of art. In this aspect, Mr Vassallo described the occasion not only as the opening of an exhibition, but also the inauguration of a series of art exhibitions because of this initiative. In this way, art and business may be perfect partners; both start with creativity, develop through innovation and both help us appreciate the beauty in others.
The art exhibition is open to the public at Il Cortile Farmhouse in Naxxar until 30 June from Monday to Thursday between 5-8pm and on Saturdays between 10am-1pm.
