Tuesday’s edition of Bondiplus came to an abrupt halt when former Maltasong chairperson Grace Borg and presenter Lou Bondi’ traded accusations, with Ms Borg walking out midway through.
Contacted yesterday, Mr Bondi’ said he would not be suing Ms Borg for what she said on the programme, however “if she has the guts, she can go ahead and sue me for libel”.
Mr Bondi said that he had pointed out to Ms Borg that she had fought with a minister, the UKAM board and recently TV presenter Peppi Azzopardi. He told her that he was informed that the producers of the TV Show Showtime ma’ Aceline (including popular singer, Manuel) would be filing a case in court against her.
“As soon as I mentioned that case, she lost her temper and began hurling insults at me, apart from accusing me of punching someone in the run-up to the CHOGM summit. I called her a liar several times on air and I reiterate that the accusation she made is a blatant lie. If she has the guts, she can go ahead and sue me,” Mr Bondi told The Malta Independent.
Contacted yesterday, Ms Borg said the heated argument between her and Minister Francis Zammit Dimech at the airport was to have been the topic of the discussion, but when Mr Bondi’s accusations became personal, she decided to walk out of the studio.
“I really could not take it anymore because this had nothing to do with the programme matter. I admit that I have court cases pending, but Lou should have known better than to mention a case which is still sub judice”.
Ms Borg said that she was not in the least bothered about the incident and added that she had no intention of suing him.
