The Hastings Gardens will be opened again on 6 July after extensive work to embellish the area would have been completed.
The aim of the project, being carried out by the Works Division of the Resources and Infrastructure Ministry, is to continue rehabilitating Valletta and make it more attractive to visitors. Minister Ninu Zammit visited the garden yesterday.
The Italian-style design, drawn up by the division’s design unit, is based on passages that lead people to small squares. Soft areas have been added to the garden scenery and all existing trees were left standing.
Workers from the manufacturing division worked on a decorative railing that surrounds the garden.
