In April 2006, the Turnover Index of the Energy group fell by 46 per cent over April 2005, according to a statement issued by National Statistics Office.
The Employment Index increased by 2.3 per cent, from 108.7 in April 2005 to 111.2 per cent in April 2006. In the same group, there was an increase of 34.9 per cent in the Wages and Salaries Index and an increase of 29.5 per cent in the Hours Worked Index.
In April 2006, the Turnover Index of the Capital Goods group increased by 6.2 per cent over April 2005. This group registered an increase in its Employment Index of 2.4 per cent, from 83.8 to 85.8, and an increase in its Wages and Salaries Index of 7.3 per cent, from 90.8 in April 2005 to 97.4 in April 2006.
The Hours Worked Index increased by two per cent in 2006 compared to 2005.
The Consumer Durable Goods Group Turnover Index registered an increase of 14.4 per cent, from 97.2 in April 2005 to 111.2 in April 2006.
An increase of 5.8 per cent for the Wages and Salaries Index, from 131.5 in April 2005 to 139.1 in April 2006, was also registered. In April 2006, an increase of 3.1 per cent was registered in the Hours Worked Index.
The Consumer Non-Durable Goods group in the Turnover Index registered an increase of 8.2 per cent from April 2005 to April 2006. During this period the Employment Index fell by 5.5 per cent, from 88.9 to 84 per cent.
The Wages and Salaries Index increased by 5.4 per cent and the Hours Worked Index registered a fall of 9.3 per cent.
The Turnover Index of the Intermediate Goods group increased by 37.8 per cent in April 2006 compared to April 2005. The Employment Index registered a fall of 7.9 per cent, from 115.8 in April 2005 to 106.6 in April 2006.
The Wages and Salaries Index fell by 7.5 per cent, from 120 per cent in April 2005 to 111 per cent in April 2006. The Hours Worked Index was down from 109.6 per cent in 2005 to 98 per cent in 2006 – a fall of 9.8 per cent.
The Total Industry Turnover Index increased by 11.9 per cent, from 90 per cent in 2005 to 100.8 per cent in 2006. The Total Industry Employment Index increased by 6.6 per cent, from 97.3 per cent in April 2005 to 103.7 in April 2006.
The Wages and Salaries Index increased by 18.5 per cent and the Hours Worked Index increased by 1.9 per cent.
