The Anthony Hammett company has donated three therapeutic nursing beds to the Arka Foundation’s Arka Respite Centre in Ghajnsielem, Gozo.
The nursing beds, which were invented by Mr Hammett, incorporate an automatic lifting and lowering apparatus that allows a patient to bath and relax in total privacy while fully immersed in warm water. The nursing beds also incorporate powerful hydromassage jets with directional nozzle flow.
The easily-operated apparatus will, in the immediate future, be exported to Denmark, while further update modifications are to be developed in Canada. The beds are also expected to be launched on the US market by September.
Danish and French clients with special needs, who at the time happened to be resident clients at the Arka Respite Centre, were full of praise for the hydro-therapeutic benefits provided by use of the special beds.
Accepting Mr Hammett’s donation, Arka Foundation director Mgr Emanuel Curmi expressed his hope that his “noble gesture” would serve as an incentive to others who can afford to show similar generous sentiments towards those who need a helping hand.
