Following last Tuesday’s massive breakout at Safi Barracks by over 300 irregular immigrants, on Sunday it was the turn of those kept in detention at Lyster Barracks in Hal Far to create a disturbance.

The Armed Forces of Malta said that a number of irregular immigrants created a disturbance within the centre and were involved in arguments between themselves. Some of them also tried to escape.

In controlling the situation which was brought back to normal in a relatively short time, a small number of AFM and police personnel suffered minor injuries.
