Missionary Priests

Malta Independent Monday, 10 July 2006, 00:00 Last update: about 13 years ago

My name is Fr Pedro, a Peruvian missionary priest, of the Missionary Society of Saint Paul (MSSP) at St Agatha’s Mother House in Rabat, Malta. I have been working in Peru for the last 11 years, starting my ministry in Chuquibamba, a parish in the Department of Arequipa in the south of Peru. Since 1999, I have been in charge of the formation of our students in Lima.

First of all I would like to thank all my friends and benefactors, from these wonderful islands of Malta and Gozo, for their spiritual and financial support to all Peruvians, especially the poorest of the poor.

In Arequipa we have five missionary zones and in Lima we have a seminary in which there are a good number of Peruvian youths who have joined our society to serve God and the church. While caring for the chapel with a pastoral zone, we also give pastoral care to 500 poor and orphaned children and boys in the three home centres.

Thanks to the generosity of our benefactors, our seminarians have the possibility to continue their studies. If you would like to help some Peruvian youths who feel the call of God to become missionary priests, you may contact Fr Norbert Bonavia mssp on 2145-4503 or 7926-5968.

May God bless you.
