Tal-Ghazzelin Beach at St Paul’s Bay will continue to be the venue of varied cultural activities. Following the Scottish students, it will be the turn of two school bands from the heart of England, which form the foundation known as Loughborough Endowed Schools.
The Loughborough Endowed Schools Big Band and the Concert Band are made up of boys from the Loughborough Grammar School and girls from the Loughborough High School & Fairfield, the first Girls’ Grammar School in England. Both schools educate girls and boys from the age of 10 to 18.
The two bands visiting Malta as part of their seventh European Tour are just part of a flourishing music tradition boasting 3 concert bands, two big bands, three orchestras, brass and wind ensembles, improvisation groups and two choirs.
Previous tours took them to Montreux, Saltzburg, Venice, Prague, Barcelona and Cyprus. The beach concert at Tal-Ghazzelin, St Paul’s Bay by the two 40-strong bands will commence at 8.45pm next Wednesday.
