Open workshop sessions in contemporary theatre technique will be held on 7, 8 and 9 August, from 9am till 12pm at the MITP theatre in Valletta.
These sessions, part of SUPA 2006 (Summer University of Performing Arts) and Malta Arts Festival – Summer 2006 are open to anyone who is interested in learning more about performer-training technique in contemporary theatre.
The open sessions, which will be conducted by Frank Camilleri, coordinator of theatre studies at the University of Malta and Mario Ruggeri, artistic director of C.I.R.T. Milan, are being held in collaboration with the Malta Council for Culture and the Arts and with TARF: Theatre Arts Researching the Foundations.
The sessions are designed at improving the participants' skills and tools that are essential to the craft of theatre such as physical flexibility, sensitivity to tempo and rhythm and vocal techniques. The sessions will also include demonstrations of work.

The Contemporary Theatre Workshop is part of the Malta Arts Festival – Summer 2006, which is organised by the Malta Council for Culture and the Arts, and sponsored by HSBC Bank Malta plc, Valletta local council, Westin Dragonara Resort and Bank of Valletta plc.
