Since the launch of the "Breaking Stereotypes" Poster Competition in mid-February, more than 400 art and design students from all over Europe have followed the European Union's call to join its creative poster competition.
As part of its five-year "For Diversity. Against Discrimination." campaign, the European Union is inviting art and design students from all Member States to make a creative statement for diversity. The competition is still open for entries until 31 July 2006.
Students can enter by uploading their work online or by submitting a CD by post, for entry details see www.stop-discrimination.info.
An expert jury made up of well-known designers and young design artists will select the best entries. Jury members include designer Uwe Loesch, also professor for communication design at the University of Wuppertal, Christian Kuesters of the Camberwell College of Arts and Rasmus Koch, up-and-coming young graphics designer from Denmark.
Prizes worth a total of e5000 are awaiting the winning designer and the university or academy that he/she attends. The winning design will be printed on flyers and posters all across the EU to spread the campaign's messages.
