A 29-year-old man from Xghajra was injured in a traffic accident early yesterday morning when, for an unknown reason, he lost control of the Isuzu van he was driving.

The incident took place at quarter to five in the morning on Santa Lucia Avenue, Paola.

The van hit the kerb, collided with a lamppost and overturned – badly damaging the vehicle. The driver, meanwhile, has been hospitalised but it not in danger of losing his life.

Further police investigations are still underway.
