Last month the Institute of Information and Communication Technology organised a Projects’ Display. The exhibition acted as a showcase and opportunity for industry to scrutinise the variety of ICT projects presented as well as discuss and exploit ideas with the students.

Final year students were offered the opportunity to exhibit their end-of-year course projects. The projects were divided in to two categories – National Diploma and Higher National Diploma – Networking and Software.

A competition was created whereby judges assessed the projects individually and awarded the best projects. Four IT companies namely Crimsonwing, 6PM, GFI and Computime sponsored the MCAST Projects. These programmes included best project for National Diploma (Software), best project for National Diploma (Networking), best project for Higher National Diploma (Software) and best project for Higher National Diploma (Networking). Gifts worth Lm 100 were given to the winner in each category.

It is the Institute’s goal to provide the highest level of skills and knowledge that will cater for the current and future needs of industry. This will establish the Institute as a leading provider of quality vocational education and training.
