The Maltese contingent that will be taking part in this year’s edition of the FISEC Games will be today travelling to Kecskemet in Hungary. The games will start tomorrow with the first competitions and the opening ceremony and will end on the 25th July.

The Maltese delegation, which is made up of ninety people, will be led by the chairman of the Malta FISEC Council Brother Martin Borg fsc. Malta will be taking part in seven different sporting disciplines which are - FUTSAL, basketball females, tennis, table-tennis, swimming, athletics and handball males.

This is not the first time that the Hungarian FISEC Council will be organising these games in his country. In 1995, the games were held also in Kecskemet while in 2001 the games were organised in Nyiregyhaza.

This year is the 58th edition of these games and over 1200 athletes will be taking part in various competitions. These athletes are coming from 14 different countries and apart from the Maltese and the Hungarian athletes we will also find athletes coming from Great Britain, France, Austria, USA, Italy, Belgium Flanders, Holland, Portugal, Spain, Croatia, Poland and Romania.

The first participation of athletes coming from Poland and Romania confirms the increase in popularity of these games.
