The Federated Association of Travel and Tourism Agents (FATTA) welcomed the appointment of Samuel Mifsud as new non-executive chairman of the Malta Tourism Authority (MTA).
Mr Mifsud was an active member of FATTA’s council before his appointment. He is widely respected in the industry, both locally and internationally, and his hands-on experience in various sectors will certainly prove to be an asset to his role at the MTA, FATTA said in a statement issued yesterday.
FATTA commended the government’s decision to carry out a consultation process with various representative bodies of the private sector, before taking a final decision on the chosen appointee, so the private sector’s consensus is certainly a positive factor.
